Hailing from Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, Fermín Núñez is executive chef of two top Austin, Texas, restaurants: Este and Suerte. After working in acclaimed Austin spots like Launderette, La Condesa, and Uchiko, Núñez and Sam Hellman-Mass opened Suerte in 2018 to create their own genre of Mexican cooking while amplifying the beauty of Núñez’s home country. He followed that up in 2022 by opening Este, which celebrates fresh seafood, coastal Mexican cuisine, and charcoal cooking. Núñez was named one of 美食與美酒’s Best Chefs in 2021 and has been featured on Netflix’s The Taco Chronicles.
